A river of animals that parts around anything it fears
move to spook the herd · press to make it mill · let go to scatter it · fling to start a stampede · tap or hold anything alive, the herd included · tap or hold the sky, the sun, the moon · drag, hold or tap the ground and the water · hold still and it settles
A savanna at the height of the great trek, seen from the side. The herd is a river of animals streaming across the frame from right to left, drawn mostly as the light of the dust it raises: gold at first light, white in the heat, red at dusk, silver under the moon, when the dark fills with eyes that catch a truck's headlights. The nearest walk through it as the animals they are, and now and then something huge passes right in front of you. A day turns every ten minutes. You are a predator on the plain: move and the herd parts around you and flinches, press and it mills about your hand, let go and it scatters, fling and a stampede runs the length of the frame. Tap it and it flinches. Stand still and it settles, and comes back.
